Religious Education

The Religious Education program at Our Lady of the Rosary Church aims at catechizing the children and young people in the Catholic faith from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 8 and the youth who are preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation.  The curriculum of our Religious Education program is based on the Sacred Scriptures which form the foundation of learning the Catholic Faith and the Church Teachings.  It is developed around the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  These are:

  • What Catholics Believe (Doctrine)
  • How Catholics Worship (Worship)
  • How Catholics Live (Morals)
  • How Catholics Pray (Prayer)

Learning is continuous; each class level builds up the content according to the age group and capacity for development.  The Religious Education program is implemented by volunteer catechists, aides and youth leaders.

Dear parents,

Unfortunately we are going through difficult times. As many of you have  heard, Archbishop Gomez announced that the public celebration of all Masses have been suspended since March 17, 2020 until March 29, 2020, or otherwise extended. Therefore, baptisms, wedding, quinceañeras, and all celebrations have been postponed as well as Religious Education classes (first communion, confirmation and RCIA) and meetings of our parish groups and ministries. Our church and offices will remain closed to the public until further notice.

Thank  you for your continued support to Our Lady of the Rosary’s Church. We ask that you keep the Lord's Day holy. Some ways to do this include: reading the Gospels, praying with your families, and joining the sacrifice of the Mass through an act of spiritual communion.

Thank you and God bless you,

OLR Staff
